Mental Health has been identified as a priority health concern and is a part of the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

Mental health is an essential part of overall well-being affecting how we think, feel, and act. It influences our ability to cope with stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health conditions can range from common issues like anxiety and depression to more severe conditions like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Just like physical health, mental health is crucial for a fulfilling and productive life. Mental health issues can affect people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. They often go hand-in-hand with physical health problems and can make managing other chronic conditions more challenging. Addressing mental health is critical for improving quality of life, reducing the burden on healthcare systems, and fostering healthier communities.

Join an Issue Action Group – your voice matters!

TCC is launching Issue Action Groups (IAGs) focused on health priorities identified in Calhoun County’s Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). We are recruiting community members and organizations to join an IAG and collaborate with us toward creating a healthier Calhoun County!

Join the Mental Health Issue Action Group (sign-up here) that meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 12-1 pm ET via Zoom.

Issue Action Groups will meet virtually and collaboratively work together to address these important health priorities. If you have any questions or want to learn more, reach out to our IAG Facilitator, Hannah Mesa at hmesa@summitpointe.org or (269) 420-0382.
